Born and raised in the Midwest United States, I have naturally come to enjoy teaching children of all ages in a variety of settings. This will be my second year with BGC, but let me tell you how I came to be here. When I was still a student in high school, I volunteered as a counselor to teach leadership and communication skills to young Boy Scouts. Later, during and after my time at university, I grew to enjoy being a camp counselor for an overnight summer camp in northern Wisconsin, which is where I came from last year. I have also worked as a tutor in my hometown for subjects ranging from English to mathematics. All of this, combined with a love of travel and different cultures, led me to Hungary.

I recently graduated with a degree in conservation biology, and in January I will be continuing my education with an online Master’s degree in Data Science. I’ve realized that teachers and professors have had a huge impact on how I live my life, simply by teaching what they love to do. I’ve also realized that I already have experience doing the exact same thing! Throughout my life, I have fostered a love of clay and three-dimensional art, as well as storytelling and playing games. At the same time, I have done my utmost to share these passions with others. I believe they are all wonderful tools through which to teach. Whether inside or outside the classroom, the kids will enjoy getting their hands dirty and being active as we explore some of the intricacies of the English language. I can’t wait to get back to the kids!
