Growing up in Michigan, I quickly found that my interests were in things that allowed me to connect to people. I discovered that I loved theatre and acting in the local community plays where I was able to meet so many different kinds of people. This is the background that helped me realize how important and wonderful our differences can be, and that I need to practice looking at situations from another’s point of view. In addition to theatre, I also babysat quite a bit, and I spent time as a nanny for 6 years, being with the children from age 5-11.

I continued my studies of acting, graduating from Michigan State University with a B.F.A. in acting and a minor in Humanities. I found that teaching was a perfect complement to my theatre background. I have taught theatre to students of all ages and abilities in theatre camps. I love the moments where kids forget they are learning because they are so involved and having fun. I truly believe that teaching and forming bonds with the students is the greatest work in the world.

I have also been teaching ESL for the past 4 years, both in the States and in China. This will be my 2nd year in Hungary and with BGC. I am so thrilled to be back on this journey with the students and the program.
