      Native English Teacher - Instructor

My name is Antoiné Cunningham; however, I am better know as Anne. I am excited to be part of the family of BGC 1st and 2nd grade after-school teachers. In September 2020, I began my English teaching journey by gaining my Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) certificate from The TEFL Academy shortly after receiving my Bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.

I had the privilege of beginning my English teaching as an au pair in Madrid, Spain from April 2021 until October 2021. From October 2021 until June 2022, I served as a language assistant in Madrid, Spain. From June 2022 until August 2022, I had the opportunity to work around Italy teaching English as a summer camp counselor while gaining my second TEFL certification from EducoItalia. Throughout this time, I have also provided private English lessons, including Cambridge exam preparation.

To say the least, I enjoy teaching English and it allows me to express my creativity. It is rewarding to see my students excel in English while also enjoying the process. In addition to expressing my creativity through teaching English, I also enjoy drawing and going to art exhibits during my free time. I also like speaking to my family from back home in Charlotte, North Carolina in the United States of America. Additionally, I enjoy learning languages. I have an upper intermediate proficiency in Spanish and a basic proficiency of Italian.

My motto in life is that “everything happens for a reason.” I am excited to be a part of this family of English development leaders and believe that I have been led here for a greater purpose.
