Information for Prospective First-Year Students

For the 2025/2026 school year, we’re excited to offer a Hungarian-English bilingual class at István Széchenyi Primary School. Our Intensive English Bilingual Program provides students with traditional morning classes followed by an immersive English-speaking environment in the afternoons, where native English-speaking teachers lead a variety of engaging activities.

The BGC English School Program uses an innovative, activity-based methodology unique among bilingual primary schools. This approach preserves the existing morning class structure, as all BGC program modules take place in the afternoon.

Our English lessons are interactive, playful, and age-appropriate, creating a stress-free environment filled with positive reinforcement. Students typically reach a B1/B2 level of English proficiency by the end of the 4+4-year program.

BGC Parent Information

The BGC English School Program will be presented at our Parents’ Forum, featuring insights from professional leaders and native-speaking teachers. We will discuss our partner school’s curriculum and the application process for Hungarian-English bilingual classes.

In the spring, we welcome prospective students to two sessions of our “Let’s Meet” school visit program. These English-language sessions are designed for children to meet their future classmates and teachers.

To support a successful school year, we believe it’s important to introduce ourselves before the term starts. Learn more about our program on our website, Facebook, and Instagram, and attend our parent briefings for detailed information.

Before applying, please review the BGC English School Program’s methodology, implementation details, and fee structure on our partner institution’s website (https://dunakeszi-szechenyi.hu).

We generally welcome applications from children who are ready for school, enjoy group activities, are open to learning, are easily motivated, and enjoy playing with their peers. While our methodology is innovative, inclusive, and child-centered, children who require a small-group environment or specific instructional support may find the bilingual setting challenging due to the foreign language component. Please keep this in mind when applying. No prior knowledge of English is required.

 

Enrollment

In the first week of April 2025, parents will be informed about whether we recommend their child for the BGC Hungarian-English bilingual class. Official enrollment will take place on the dates listed below.
