Gárdonyi Géza Primary School
Information for Prospective First-Year Students
For the 2025/2026 school year, we are excited to launch a Hungarian-English bilingual class at Gárdonyi Géza Primary School. In our Intensive English Bilingual Program, students participate in a traditional academic curriculum in the mornings, followed by an immersive English-language environment in the afternoons, led by native English-speaking teachers through engaging and interactive activities.
The BGC English School Program employs an innovative teaching methodology unique among bilingual primary schools. It preserves the existing morning schedule and introduces all program modules in the dedicated afternoon time slot.
Our English sessions are designed to be activity-based, age-appropriate, interactive, and enjoyable. Students progress in a stress-free environment with ample positive feedback, achieving B1/B2 English proficiency by the end of the 4+4-year program.

BGC Parent Information
The BGC English School Program, which uses an activity-based language acquisition approach, will be presented at an upcoming Parents’ Forum, featuring program leaders and native-speaking instructors. We will discuss the bilingual program offered at our partner school and cover the application process for the Hungarian-English bilingual classes.

Let’s Get to Know Each Other! To ensure a smooth school year, we believe it is essential for parents, children, and the school to get acquainted before the start of classes. We present our program through content on our website, Facebook, and Instagram, as well as through parent information sessions.
Before applying, we encourage you to learn about the BGC English School Program’s teaching methods, implementation details, and fees. You can also visit our partner school’s website (www.gardonyi.bp13.hu) to explore its educational program, including bilingual class offerings (e.g., French starting in Year 2).
How to Apply
In general, we welcome applications from children who are ready for school, enjoy group activities, are open to new experiences, are easily motivated, and enjoy playing with their peers. Our experience shows that while our methodology is innovative and child-centered, children who require a smaller group learning atmosphere may find the bilingual environment challenging.
Prior knowledge of English is not required to apply.
