Angol anyanyelvi lektorIt is so important that learning a language is fun and doesn’t feel like a chore for kids. From personal experience I know that when you have opportunities and experiences that make learning a language fun and natural, it feels as if a whole new world is opening up. It is such an exciting and wonderful feeling that I want students to experience while they are learning English.
I’m so happy to be joining the Boy’s and Girl’s Club for my 6th year of teaching. I grew up in California in the United States and while I was in high school my family moved to Colorado and it’s there that I finished high school and received my bachelor’s degree in business from Colorado State University. However, I discovered that the business world was not for me, and a desire to explore new places and cultures led me to obtaining my TEFL certification in 2018. In the same year I moved to Hajdúszoboszló where I spent four years teaching at a primary school. I thoroughly enjoyed my time in Hungary. I loved watching my students grow in their knowledge of English over those four years and I greatly value my time there.
In this past school year I taught at a high school in Spain where I enjoyed the opportunity to work with older groups of students and a team of passionate colleagues who gave me new perspectives and helped me grow as a teacher. However, Hungary has been calling my name and so this year I am excited to return, as well as work with younger children once again! I’m looking forward to the start of the school year and getting to know everyone!
