Chilombo Mahamba

I come from Zambia. It is a country with over 73 languages and each person is expected to speak or understand at least three. Language is what brings us together. It helps us understand one another.

My motivation to teach came from my time in Romania. I was a tutor at an Afterschool centre in Bucharest. I got to work with children from the middle east and Europe. It was the largest international community I had ever been a part of. I taught Science, Math, Geography in English. I also taught theatre and chess on the weekends.

I came to Hungary in 2022 and I am now part of the BGC program. It has been an adventure.

BGC’s focus on language acquisition creates a fun learning experience for the kids. I always find it fascinating how faces light up to new sound or new image.

The giggles, the teases, the cheers are all part of what makes the BGC experience worthwhile.

I look forward to the year that lies ahead.
