I am a British citizen living with my boyfriend in Hungary. I am CELTA qualified and have taught English language to refugees for a charity in my hometown of Leeds in the UK. I have also assisted in arts and crafts classes with children at a local art gallery.

The communicative approach to language learning is the basis of my teacher training and I believe this extends into play and experimentation. In my own experience of language learning, from Spanish lessons in a classroom to spending time with my boyfriend’s Hungarian family, I have experienced how important it is to speak freely and easily to learn languages. Having the freedom to communicate, experiment, make jokes and be playful has greatly improved my Hungarian language skills.

One of the most important things for successful language learning is confidence. If a child’s confidence is low, learning is low, but learning is more successful if confidence is high.
